The Department of Radio Equipment Production Technology (known as REPT) was established as an independent unit in 1971.
Its first head was Stepan Kudinov, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Associate Professor.
At that time, the department consisted of: Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences O.E. Bozhko, Senior Lecturer S.Ya. Karnarukov, Senior Lecturer A.I. Zolotukhin, Senior Lecturer G.V. Getman, Senior Lecturer G.F. Demyanenko, Assistant N.V. Milyutina, and Head of Laboratory I.T. Korobov. The department was part of the Radio Equipment Design Faculty, headed by Senior Lecturer Sokrat Yakovlevich Karnarukov.
Over the next few years, the department was headed by: Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences Zhylkov V.S. (1974–1979), Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences Y.G. Khizhnyak (1980–1985), and since 1986, Prof. I.Sh. Nevliudov, Ph.D., has been elected head. The structure of the department has undergone significant changes in terms of the number of faculty members, the number of faculties involved in the educational process, and the content of educational, educational, and methodological work.
In 1991, the department changed its name to TARECEP (Technologies and Automation of Radioelectronic and Electronic Computing Equipment Production).

In 2016, the department was renamed the Department of Computer-Integrated Technologies, Automation, and Mechatronics (Order No. 700 of December 5, 2016). By order No. 148 dated 07.07.2023, the department was renamed the Department of Computer-Integrated Technologies, Automation and Robotics (CITAR).
