Department of computer-integrated technologies, automation and safety engineering

Language:

Robotics

The Department of Computer Integrated Technologies, Automation, Robotics and Safety Engineering is proud of its long-term and fruitful cooperation with leading world leaders in the field of automation and industrial education. This strategic partnership is not just a fact of the availability of modern equipment, but a fundamental basis for improving the educational process, training highly qualified specialists and integrating the academic environment with industry.

The department has several training laboratories, where teachers and students study robotics.:

Collaboration with Festo Didactic and Flex is a vivid example of such interaction. It allows our department to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, providing students with a unique opportunity to work with equipment that is used in real production facilities around the world..

Collaboration with Festo Didactic is more than just getting a Robotino 2 robot. It is access to an innovative educational philosophy based on the concept of hands-on learning. Thanks to Robotino 2, students not only learn the theory of robotics, but also immerse themselves in solving real engineering problems: developing navigation and manipulation algorithms, programming sensors and control systems. This experience helps them develop systems thinking, teamwork skills and problem-solving skills, which are extremely important for their future careers.

Festo representatives came to us many times with gifts!

Collaboration with Flex provided the department with modern automation equipment, which has become a powerful tool for modernizing laboratory workshops. This interaction is evidence of how industry can support education by providing universities with resources that meet the highest world standards. Students have the opportunity to study the principles of building and operating automated systems, program industrial controllers and debug technological processes using equipment similar to that installed at Flex factories. This partnership ensures that our graduates have up-to-date knowledge and practical experience necessary for successful work in the field of industrial automation.

Thus, these partnerships are mutually beneficial. Companies receive qualified specialists, prepared for real conditions, and the department provides its students with knowledge and skills that meet the modern requirements of the labor market. This synergy of science, education and business is a guarantee of success and innovative development for both our university and the industry of Ukraine in general.

Our department participated in the exhibition and competitions OL Fest 2025, where our students Artyukh Vladislav Serhiyovych (team captain), Karpovich Bogdan Olegovich, Tkalenko Matviy Oleksandrovych took 4th place in the competition, where in 12 hours they made a mobile robot that works and performs the competition tasks set before it!

As part of working with applicants from the region in 2025, meetings were held in the field of robotics as part of the project “Encouragement of admission to technical specialties at Kharkiv universities”, organized by the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine and the NGO “Platform of Public Diplomacy”!

We participated in the state budget topic “Intelligent Multipurpose Mobile Robotic Platform with Advanced Manipulation Capabilities”

Our department collaborates with the company Robotecin the field of robotics and even on its basis were carried out developments with the participation of graduates and students!

Teachers and students also participate in All-Ukrainian Olympiads, where they take prizes..

The II stage of the IV All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad “Computer Systems of Artificial Intelligence” was held at NTU KhPI from April 16 to 19, 2019.

Every year, students and teachers of the Department of CITARSE, Faculty of Automation and Computerized Technologies of NURE take part in it, who defend the honor of KhNURE.

This year, 5th-year students of the group KTRSm-18-1 Aleksey Tatarintsev, Pavlenko Vladislav, Pasha Solodovnyk and 2nd-year student of the group TRREA-17-1 Korkhov Dmitry, who took 3rd place!

On 12/23/17, the second event for children and adults, the “RoboYalynka” holiday, was held at the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, organized by the CITAM Department of the Faculty of Automation and Computerized Technologies of NURE.

Our young friends and their parents were able to get acquainted with the achievements of the students of the robotics club, students-participants of NURE Robotics and teachers of the CITAM Department, take part in thematic competitions, the New Year’s lottery, and also try themselves as a robot controller in the Robobattle and Roborace competitions.

September 16-17, 2017 on the basis of the Lavina amusement park in Dnipro hosted the second festival of science, technology and modern technologies Interpipe TechFest 2017, organized by Interpipe.

Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics was represented at this event by the CITAM Department. Our team, consisting of students of the ACIT specialty of the Faculty of Automation and Computerized Technologies of NURE Masha Volkova, Vladislav Bakushevich, Maksym Prykhodko and Denis Zelenov, under the leadership of Anna Ponomareva and Artem Bronnikov, was given a unique opportunity to show the most interesting developments to the guests of the festival from all over Ukraine: the Festo Robotino 2 mobile robot, as well as autonomous robot cars – participants of the annual RoboRace races.

Our guys took part in Dnipro Robobattle as part of Interpipe TechFest 2017 in the Freestyle Robot class, where they took prizes in all nominations, namely:

– Line race (2nd place);

– Robo SUMO (1st place);

– RoboKegelRing (1st place);

– Robo SUMO_Controlled (1st place).

On April 5-6, 2017, the PMR-2017 Mobile Robot Programming Olympiad was held at the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, Department of CITAM, Faculty of Automation and Computerized Technologies, NURE, with the support of FESTO and JABIL. Many thanks to all participants who came from other cities and universities.

In 2016, the department took part in the WorldSkills Ukraine competition, where our team took 3rd place in such a prestigious competition!
