The meeting was held under the Education for Green Transition in Ukraine Universities GTUAedu NAWA 2024 project

From March 9 to 17, 2024, in the Republic of Poland, Wroclaw, at the University of Science and Technology (Wroclaw Tech), the kick-off meetings of the international project Education for Green Transition in Ukraine Universities GTUAedu NAWA 2024 were held. NURE was presented in the project by the dean of the Faculty of Automatic and Computerized Technologies Prof. Oleksandr FILIPENKO and Assoc.Prof. of the Department of Safety Engineering Hanna PRONYUK.

At the meeting, the main goals, work plan, budget of the Education for Green Transition project and directions of cooperation within its implementation with the consortium of European universities Unite! were discussed. 

The working plan of the project envisages conducting a Summer School for students, developing educational micro-credit courses, forming a “Green University” model and requirements for recognizing universities as “Green”.

During the meeting, modern approaches to creating “Micro-credentials courses. The general framework” were presented by Anna Maria Kamińska, Wroclaw Tech. Project participants shared the achievements of their teams in the presentations “What made the university participate in the previous GTUA project”. Nataliia Stukalo, deputy head of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education (NAQA), presented the prospects for the implementation of “green standards” in higher education in Ukraine (“Implementation of Green Standards. Added value in the Quality Assurance system?”) and the role of green standards in the activities of universities. (“The role of green standards in HEI activities. How to measure progress? Education for green transition in the system of Ukrainian Higher Education”).

During a lively discussion, representatives of universities of Ukraine and Poland, the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education discussed directions for improving “green standards”, problems of assessing dynamic changes in green transformation processes, the needs of HEIs, how to measure progress.
