Our students visited Defense Tech Valley 2025

The Defense Tech Valley 2025 international exhibition in Lviv was a rich and extremely important event that brought together leading representatives of the defense industry from all over Europe and Ukraine. The event demonstrated the deep synergy between traditional military technology and innovative software solutions, becoming a key platform for exchanging experiences and establishing contacts. It also attracted great interest from our students who visited the exhibition!

The exhibition featured numerous demonstrations of innovations in the field of ground and air unmanned systems, as well as hardware solutions:

  • Reconnaissance and Analysis Systems: Govsni / Govini, a European development, was presented—a specialized solution for military scenarios, focused on analyzing mobile devices and collecting critical data from remote devices.
  • VIDAR Platform from Shield AI: The VIDAR platform, described as the “eyes” for drones and helicopters, made a particular impression. It enables rapid search for objects over large areas, significantly increasing reconnaissance efficiency.
  • Vertical Take-Off Drones (V-BAT): V-BAT reconnaissance aircraft were demonstrated, whose control systems use FPGA controllers to ensure critically fast data processing.
  • UNEX Ground Drone (Key Exhibit): The multifunctional UNEX platform attracted the most attention. This high-mobility ground drone is capable of swimming and is equipped with an optional combat module designed for logistics, evacuation, and reconnaissance.
  • Strike and FPV Drones: A wide range of UAVs was presented, from small FPV drones (first-person view) to powerful strike models, including Vektor and Sparta. The latter, which are currently in production, are capable of carrying explosive payloads weighing from 150 to 800 kg, which underscores their tactical significance.

The exhibition provided an in-depth overview of the internal equipment of modern military systems and opportunities for specialists:

  • Electronics and Data Processing: Hardware components were actively discussed at the stands:
    • NVIDIA Jetson and other SBCs (Single Board Computers) for accelerating video processing and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms.
    • FPGA solutions for critically fast and secure information processing.
    • Industrial controllers, PLCs, and CAN buses for reliable operation of power subsystems.
  • Communication and Career: The organizers created an effective platform for communication with engineers, entrepreneurs, and representatives of IT projects. Representatives of Robota.ua provided important practical advice: for successful employment in the defense industry and related fields, it is necessary to include the most relevant, clear, and truthful information in your resume, as engineers are currently in high demand.
