A seminar on formal labor relations and combating human trafficking was held at NURE (SDG 8 – “Decent work and economic growth”)

On October 20, 2025, a thematic seminar “Official Labor Relations, Labor Exploitation, Human Trafficking” was held at the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics.

 

The event was organized by Associate Professor of the KITAR Department Ivanov Leonid Stanislavovych together with the North-Eastern Interregional Department of the State Labor Service and the Main Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region.

 

During the seminar, the issues of legal employment, compliance with labor rights, prevention of labor exploitation and counteraction to human trafficking were discussed.

 

The speakers of the event were:

– Pavlo Oleksandrovych Shtepa, Deputy Head of the Department – Head of the Labor Department of the Northern Region of the Department of Inspection Activities in the Kharkiv Region of the North-Eastern Interregional Department of the State Labor Service;

 

– Serhiy Stanislavovich Negodov, Head of the Department of Labor Issues of the South-Eastern Region of the Department of Inspection Activities in the Kharkiv Region of the North-Eastern Interregional Department of the State Labor Service;

 

– Andriy Mikhailovich Portnov, Senior Operations Officer in the Department of Internal Affairs of the Migration Police Department of the Main Police Department in the Kharkiv Region.

 

The participants of the event learned about the mechanisms for protecting labor rights, received advice on safe employment in Ukraine and abroad, as well as information on the activities of state structures in the field of preventing labor exploitation.

 

Such meetings help to form the legal culture of young people and raise the level of awareness of applicants about safe working conditions.
